It's time to buy a plasma TV!!

TVConsumer Reports says that you should ditch your television set and buy a plasma TV this Christmas. Why? Prices are not expected to drop much, if any, in 2008 and retailers will be offering big discounts to get you in their stores this holiday season.

42" plasmas should average around $1,000 and some deals may go as low as $599. I know that's not exactly cheap but it's about as cheap as it is going to get in the near future.

Discounts for LCD TVs will not be as great as those for plasmas but prices will still drop a bit.  The LCD TVs that I have looked at don't look as good as plasmas anyway.

With analog TV scheduled to go away in 2009, it makes sense to get a TV that has a built-in digital receiver. Remember that just because the screen is flat, does NOT mean that it has a digital receiver. For more great info on digital TV, check out the FOX16 Digital TV Answers section, which includes an Ask the Expert section so you can get answers to your DTV questions from our in-house DTV expert.
