Little Rock Zoo and Mitchell Williams Law Firm present Wild Wines of the World, a fundraiser benefiting the Little Rock Zoo’s animals and programs.

Wild Wines of the World, the Little Rock Zoo’s first-ever fine wine and food fundraising event, will allow guests to experience wines from around the world complimented by specialty foods from Little Rock’s finest restaurants.  Wild Wines will be from 7-10p.m. at Café Africa inside the Little Rock Zoo on Saturday, May 3.

Wild Wines of the World will feature a selection of wines from six continents - North America, South America, Africa, Asia, Europe and Australia - along with delectable food themed around these continents prepared by the area’s premier restaurants.  Representatives from various wineries will be present to discuss their wine making processes, and guests will receive a keepsake crystal wine glass to use for their tasting experience.

Tickets are $50.00 for non-members of the Zoo, $40.00 for Zoo members and $400.00 for a group of 10.  Proceeds will continue the Zoo’s goal of conservation, education and recreation of the wonders of wildlife.  For more information or to purchase tickets, contact Zetta Friday, Zoo special events coordinator, at (501) 666-2406 or ZFriday@littlerock.org.

The Little Rock Zoo has long been one of Arkansas' great treasures. It all began modestly in 1926, with just two animals — an abandoned timber wolf and a circus-trained brown bear. Today, the Zoo has grown to include more than 725 animals representing 200+ species, many on the endangered list. The Zoo itself has become one of the state's greatest educational and conservation resources.

The Little Rock Zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA).  Look for the AZA logo whenever you visit a zoo or aquarium as your assurance that you are supporting a facility dedicated to providing excellent care for animals, a great experience for you and a better future for all living things.  With its more than 200 accredited members, AZA is a leader in global wildlife conservation and your link to helping animals in their native habitats.  For more information, visit www.aza.org.
