Re: Paddling Kids in Public Schools

No kids should not get paddled at school. no one should have the right to spank a child unless its there own. where i went to school even if the child did get paddled it didnt stop there behavior they just did it again. and why would parents want a teacher or another adult paddle there child if you raised your child up right at home then they wouldnt have to go to school and let someone else paddle there child.

I am a 43 year old father of three great kids and I am also a father, that grew up with paddeling in the public school. I think that it should be allowed. Nothing bad happened to me and I did not have to get counceling after I grew up. Kids need to relize that if you do some thing wrong you have to pay the price. As long as it is done right and no bruses are left on the child then every thing is ok.

I think paddlling is an excellent way to discipline a child.  But I believe this would not be an issue if more parents spanked and taught their children right from wrong at home.  Look at how kids act now days, they have no respect for their possession or other people.  Because they are babied and handed everything they want.  Parents need to step in and make their children respect things in the world.  They need not to give them everything they want, they need to make them work for it.  By doing this children would understand how things work in the world as well as responsibility and discipline.  And paddling in schools would not be that big of an issue.

I am a kindergarten teacher and even with 5/6 year olds, the children are often pushing authority to the limits.  Many children will stand up and tell the teacher "you can't touch me" and smile..."because my mommie or daddy said..."  In my school district we have a form that parents have to fill out at the beginning of the year stating corporal punishment or not.  If a child misbehaves and the parents signed no corporal punishment, the parents have to come to school immediately and get their child. I have had many instances where a child intentionally misbehaved so he could go home.  No teacher or principal likes to administer corporal punishment, but if a child repeatedly misbehaves in class, at least the teacher has a consequence for the bad behavior.  Teachers need to have control of their classrooms (which includes consequences for undesired behavior)in order to teach for the future instead of having to constantly call parents to come get their child for a day at home.

YES, paddle them kids if they get out of line.  To many kids are labeled hyper when they just need a switching.  I am serious, whip um.

I believe when a child comes at an adult with the attitude and disrespect in above quote...

The parents need to be paddled for challanging the teachers authority by teaching the child to be defiant and disrespectful in the first place.

Re: Paddling Kids in Public Schools

Absolutely NOT....I've seen kids abused by so-called teachers, in rural schools! The only one responsible for spanking a child, is that childs parent.....you teachers better get "educated" on civil rights....if you don't think you can spank one child after another, and use EXACTLY the same amount of force each time...then I suggest you keep your anger to yourself, and expel the child or call his father and have HIM come to school and whip the child. These days, if a child sees a doctor for chickenpox, and has bruises where hes been whipped....there's liable to be some serious measures taken against the perpetrator! You can think about it....take all the time you need! ~Denarky!

Paddling a kid in school is NOT abuse.  they are only allowed so many swats on those behinds.  If the parents would raise their kids a little respect at home, they wouldn't need any displine in school.  But everyone is too busy anymore to care what their kids are doing,  then its the parents that are all surprised when their kids are sitting in jail for doing something REALLY wrong.  "but he (or she) was such a GOOD kid, I don't know what happened"   I think some parents should have to sit in jail with the kids.

What...you think allowing strangers to whup the tar outta your kids teaches you anything? How do you think parents got that way? You call their sorry butts up at work, and make them come to school and deal with it....I promise you....you will begin to see some well behaved kids in schools! My teachers only had to send a note home and I got my but tore up!!

a note got me into big trouble too....I never had to be paddled at school.  but nobody has the guts to discipline their kids that are getting into trouble at school anymore since the government took over those parental rights. so if the school has to do it for em......go get em principals of the USA.

If you let the government take those God given rights away....they will eventually take all your rights away, and we might as well call this country "USSR" because that's exactly how they were. Remember...."government by the people" .......not by the Police! ~Denarky

Listen up people: hitting kids with a board[almost a 2x4]in school does only one thing. It teaches that; hitting someone with a board is what one does, when someone pi$$es  you off! And think about this: when government starts taking away Constitutional rights.....it's time to take down government! You do that by voting for the right people not necessarily the most popular! ~Denarky

Re: Paddling Kids in Public Schools

I'd rather have my kids getting a whack (not whupped as you put it) with a board than shot with a gun like is going on now....and parents are buying these guns for the kids now??????????????????   the world has gone nuts!
