People Driving Into Flood Waters

Why do people think they are special and will make it through raging flood waters? WHY do they continue on and drive into it? I realize it can be a sort of illusion that the water is not that deep, but WHY chance it? Then get on national television and use words like "lookted" and sentences like "the dude with the axe". I just find it hard to believe. REALLY hard to believe.

H1N1 Media Hype

Unfortunately, a wonderful little 10 year old girl passed away today. She had contracted the H1N1 virus, BUT she also had pre-existing conditions, and they are awaiting the autopsy to find the cause of death. HOWEVER, Fox 16 decided to raise the media hype of H1N1 with these two statements,

"This girl contracted the H1N1 virus, and she died." - completely abusive treatment of a situation that requires FACTS and not HYPE. Fox 16 should be ashaned of this misleading, and abusive reporting. Freedom of the Press does not exist to hype the "current scare" but for reporting the FACTS without fear of censorship.

As soon as the World Series is over you can bet I will not be watching this sham of a news show anymore! and my deepest sympathies to and prayers for the family.

Influenza and H1N1

I am a grandmother, here at the ACH. My granddaughter was brought in on Friday and just diagnosed with Influenza. She is only 2 months old and was born a preemie. She is on a ventilator, has an arterial line, feeding tube, NG tube, catheter, she is receiving breathing treatments that she continuously desats on and they have to bag her. She is taking antibiotics, along with Lasix to help eliminate the fluid that is building in her. She left home that morning to go to an eye doctor appointment to ending up in the ICU a few hours later. For anyone reading this post, I just want you to know how serious this flu is. For the time span that my family and I have been here with her, there have been numerous children brought into the PICU with the same symptoms. This flu is very dangerous and is attacking rapidly. I would warn anyone with children to take all necessary precautions with your children, so that they are not watching them fight for thier lives as we are. Sometimes it is just the smallest things, like handwashing that makes the biggest difference.

I wonder if the auto industry is carrying the note making a % on that alone? With that same wonder will it not have a bad future effect? If someone was driving a paid off car they were not having to pay a car note. If that was so, then they might not could of afforded the extra funds, insurance, personal property taxes etc involued in a new car. Every month you drive a paid off car you make money. With this plan what the consumer gets more cost & china gets steel. China to me seems awful interested in buying us up lately and should be considered a red flag. Yes the auto industry can get rid of all them back logged cars and might even keep a couple folks on longer because of this. I am sure them fancy folks will get them much needed trips to the bahamas too? LOL But to me the long term situation will no doubt be grim. Car repos on the rise, people ruining thier already tarnished credit...Then at the end us folks will not even have transportation and the banks will be on us to pay for the car that was repoed months before. To me it is a temporary fix that has a rebound effect

People are upset at their voting record on things like ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION[among others]! The People are tired of their representatives marching lockstep along with people like Pelosi, Kennedy, and Reed. Radical politicians on both sides of the aisle are throwing our country away with both hands, and the people are very tired of their childish displays of Partisanship in the People's House! tax to pay for trauma center

How can the "powers that be" believe that more tax on cigarettes will fund whatever they want? The world is trying to take away the freedom of choice for smoker's everywhere..and get everyone to quit smoking. So lets say they pass ANOTHER tax on cigarettes, start up their trauma center based on this new tax...and people quit smoking....WHERE is the money to fund this trauma center going to come from then? Anti-smokers don't stop to think very well do they??

Today was suppose to be the day for the national switch to be thrown for digital broadcasting, doing away with analog. All tv stations have been warning viewers for over 2 years now that this day was coming...so do whatever you had to do to make your home or business tv sets ready for the change. There must have been expenses to all tv stations for all the mass warnings and scrolling on peoples tv's for over 2 years, but yet FOX has fallen into the minority trap again! Fox admits "dozens" of people have called them and said they were not ready for the transition. Dozens out of millions should not influence progress with something that has been discussed, advertized and engrained in us for over 2 years. The fact of the matter is in June dozens still will not be ready, why?, APATHY!

Please don't use the low income, or eldery excuse on this one. If you saved $1 a month since the warnings started 2 years ago you could have bought a digital box, $5 a month and you could have had a new tv with digital tuner.

BTW Fox, quit calling yourself the "DTV leader"...ya have to pull the plug on analog to be a Digital TV leader.

I have been following the story for the introduction of casinos and have heard some pretty strong arguments against it. Here is my question...Can someone please explain to me why it is that Oaklawn racing and the dog track in West Memphis are not illegal? Oaklawn advertises it's gaming room and I dont see how that is any different from casino gaming. And do any of these proposals allow Arkansans to be able to play games online for money? All I know is that I would really like to be able to play games for cash online through sites like worldwinner.

Drug test for Public assistance

As workers we most all have to pass drug testing, to work to pay taxes. So we can get up early and go to bed early. So we can afford insurance, housing, etc. Our tax monies go to those unwilling to work, who don't have to pass a drug tests for funds. Who don't have to go to bed early or get up early. They don't answer to a higher up. They don't work 75 hours a week as I do for salary due to their assistance being jeopardized because they are working for a living. How many others feel those receiving our hard earned tax dollars should submit to a hair follicle drug test?

If you get a traffic ticket and simply just forgt or miss read the dtae then your DNA should be on file and if so how long for each indavidual crime and on simple missdamenors who pays? DNA cost almost 500.00 usd per person and I'd rather be shot dead than to have to pay for DNA over asimple missdamenor!

Body Found in Running Car

Little Rock police are investigating a body found in the 3800 block of Arch street around 2:30 Monday morning.

Homicide detectives say a black male, about 35 years of age was discovered shot inside a car parked at the entrance to Interstate Park. Investigators say the vehicle was still running with its lights on when they arrived at the scene.

The victim's name has not been released. This case is not confirmed as a homicide or suicide. An investigation is underway. Stay with www.fox16.com for the very latest.

I by no means argue that being buckled up is a bad thing. But when I drive my personal car and get a ticket for a seatbelt a guy on a motercyle will be passing me by without not only a seatbelt but a choice of riding without a helmet. Now before the police officer can finish the no seat belt ticket no doubt a school bus full of our children (Our Future) will pass my car also. They too have no seatbelts. How can anyone put a price on our future. The folks say it is too costly. Why not take all the ticket funds that the police recieve for the (click it or ticket) funds and put seatbelts on the public keyword city school buses. Public school buses....Or might I just say, Why are the folks that run our public school system get fined per student that doesn't have a seatbelt on.

I do wear a seatbelt everyday, I am just a bit po'ed that the school system cares little about our futures adults of the world. Lets face it one day we mom's and dad's will get old and this world will depend on those children that ride that bus daily to school. What is your thoughts on the subject? Do you think I am all wet? Or do you think I make a valid point? Really wanting an honest opinion

we have witnesses to my baby's death can the good people please come forward please contact me @ 501-247-0237 thank you fox for helping us soooo much but please dont be afraid to come forward our family is not stupid we only want answers, it just goes from one extreme to the other i have to help my sons that are still here donnies identical twin felt everything that night we were never told that donnie had a cell mate, we were told that there was a video and that i could get a copy after the investigation now there is no video i desperatetely need some answers i need to do anything that i can for my babies yes they are grown but they are still my babies my son donnie was the best father and son and brother that youcould ever expect, we were not told that donnie was tookto the hospital, we do have pictures also now my sons and my brother are being harrased for things that happened years ago we knew that this would happen my twin son can hardly function and my oldest son bobby is trying to handle everything on his own its not fair we have been told soooo many lies if there is anyone that can help us please i am begging with everything in my soul for help
